Free to a good home.

I purchased this with the idea of parting it out for other projects, however after dropping in some better eps I just can't bring myself to split it up.

Only tried it in my very light polluted back yard however it provides very nice views (IMO) at lower powers.

It is very light and fast to set up.I have a few other very nice 60mm refractors and i'm afraid this little gem will just not get out enough.

I would like to get actual shipping cost but if that's a burden to you just let me know. I want it to be enjoyed.

Just setting it up for the photos gave me pause. What you see is what you get.

PM me please, and no flippers.

I will leave this up for a day or two.

The 813 has a new home.

The red Edmund 4.25” F10 Newt has a new home.

And the maple has been bought and plans under way to make a mount fitting of the scope. And will be looking to track down some .965 e.p.s for it in place of a junk  1.25 barrel ground down to fit at the moment. Haven't had the chance to get it out yet but will soon. Thanks again terra!

Owe the days of the REAL space program.
The song "Telstar" was the type of song that made me want to climb aboard the next
spacecraft looking for adventure and exploration.hamsterdance.gif

I totally love the Ventures. Growing up in southern California during the height of the Surf Craze, we all loved the Ventures, Dick Dale, Jan and Dean, etc!

Free to a good home / you pay for postage.

Parts for a TOWA 80mm / f15 refractor.  Scope has seen rough use!  Must have been dropped.

It was donated to the local astronomical society and I bought the OTA for $10.

I have looked through it and marveled at the lack of color aberration.  Now I'm moving on (up?) to Orion 120mm / f9

Objective lens with collimation cell (small chip in edge of lens)

Optical tube  (with many dings)

A .965 focuser with draw tube (Rack gear has a few missing teeth)

I'm new to this so someone will need to lead me through mailing the parts without more damage.

If you have a UPS  store near you, they will wrap it for you, tell you how much shipping will be etc. if it was closer to monthly check id want it, but that's two weeks away, I'm sure some one will jump o it.

And, also this fine morning, a rather battered Criterion finder.....

no cross-hairs, coatings degraded on the objective, dents and dings all around the tube from the 6-point bracket, and the winner....a hole drilled in the side with some sort of light-holder previously poorly epoxied on, you get both the thing, and a tube filed back to relatively smooth.  but.... the coveted 'Criterion' is still engraved on the side.....

THANK YOU for the catalog! As an old "Meade man" it made my day to receive it today! It's going next to Sam Brown on the bookshelf!

I guess I will contact Meade and get permission to post in on the CLASSICS wiki. What a beautiful job they did!
