Maybe someone on the forums will know of a club in the area that could clean them up (if needed) and help find them a good home?

I'm in all of the local clubs, don't know of anyone in them who'd be interested.

If you don't find anyone local, and don't mind waiting until COVID lifts enough that interstate travel is allowed, I could take them as student loaners. All the reflectors were checked out this year, and I still had students wanting them. I would put the Edmund in a dob mount. But I can't go out of state and then go back to school without quarantining for five days before getting a test and then waiting until the test comes back (also, my wife would divorce me).

Just think of this as a backup option - I'd be very happy to see you find someone local.

Zane

If no one comes for the Edmund soon and you become  pressed for space (pun intended) ,  I would be happy to take it for Chip for the loaner set. I could keep it here for several weeks or so  and then drive it up to him for a Covid safe well distanced drop off  as I did with D'Mala's Tasco 7te parts scope. I am up by the Connecticut Massachusetts border every month or every other month.  I am a big fan of young people and students having access to scopes and Chip does a good job of making them ready for the school loaner set.

Having said that.......if you place it with a teenager before it crowds your space that it fine as well

Barry

Hi Barry,

I forgot to say thanks for that offer. I saw this, but then got caught up in a rush with a new semester, and it slipped my mind. I hope Zane found a good home for the Edmund.

I'm still trying to figure out who to give my Meade 114EQ to. I really want it to go to someone in the Charlotte, NC area who needs it or will use it for outreach. I'll be making a decision this weekend, so please put your name in the bag if interested along with why! If you've already PM'ed me then no need to repeat!

I am cleaning out some of my unused stuff and this is what I call an Optics and ATM tinkerer grab bag. It includes:

  1. A really nice 0.965” i.d. slotted compression fit eyepiece holder tube. Perfect for making a finder which is what I had it for, (that project never materialized). It’s heavy walled (~1/2 mm or so), interior blackened, chrome plated metal.
  2. A double concave lens in cell. Perfect for making or repairing a small barlow or for use as a Galilean telescope eyepiece, ~15mm dia, with a negative f.l. that appears to be ~20mm.
  3. Two black anodized aluminum 1.25” eyepiece barrels for making your own. They appear to be threaded for filters.
  4. A nice heavy Monolux 10X (25mm) Wide Field volcano-top microscope eyepiece (23mm dia.), with coated optics. The field lens has a straight radial crack in it from edge almost to center.
  5. Unitron R5X microscope eyepiece, heavy brass, missing field lens.
  6. Monolux 15X microscope eyepiece missing eye lens (cell intact), standard 23mm dia.

One woman’s junk may be another person’s treasure. It’s ALL free to you (I won’t break it up). It will ship in a small USPS priority flat rate box. Taker to pay $9.00 ($8.45 postage and 55¢ PayPal fee), CONUS ONLY!

I have 154 AAVSO charts. Some are in blue print but most are white print.  Many are long period, and a assortment of

U Gem stars, reoccurring nova, RCB stars and other types. If no takers I will dispose of them in the near future.

PM me.

The Optics and ATM tinkerer grab bag I posted above has a new home. It should be going out in the next day or two.

I have a canon 50D which I want to gift to someone that will not turn around and sell it. It has been modified by Hap Griffin as a Full Spectrum camera.

You will need a canon lens and clip in filters from astronomiks - https://www.astronom...tml?___store=en

In order to get the camera I want a paid shipping label. We can work out the details later.

I think I've found a home for my Meade 114EQ to go to - appreciate all the interest and I'll reach out to those who did respond if it falls through!
