Orion 60mm x 700mm - Focuser is weirdly reminiscent of a Unitron with a sliding drawtube + R&P design (0.965)", dew shield is metal and has a dent, no caps. You pay shipping. Happy to just give away the objective and focuser and chuck the tube.

Meade 10" LX6 mount, I think it has an encoder shaft in place of one of the DEC circles. Drive works. Free if you pay postage.

RA drive motor and clutch.

As you see the plug is trashed.

This came from a GP-DX mount. CG-5 Class mount.

I replaced it with a skywatcher kit so same fit.

DIY RA kit. You pay postage.

PM me.

Go to this link string, look for the Tasco 5VTE entries. It gets interesting around entries 7 and 8.  Participate as per entry noted.

Flat rubber ring gaskets for the Edmund grey 1" pier mounts. These are the mounts typical of the Super Space Conqueror, Deluxe Palomar. The originals have long rotted off most scopes. Unfortunately I only have 11 extras. I ran out of gasket material.

I would like to spread these out. I can do a complete scope (4 rings) in an envelope.  I'll do at least one complete scope.  These are ONLY for those who have a cherished keeper that is missing rings. I will be discerning.  $1 per envelope, up to 4 rings per envelope.  This will likely get a lot of request so BE in need.  Understand that I only have enough right now for a few people, so most request won't go. I'm leaving the set up to make more if I find another rubber sheet.

Here is a link to making them

The rings are all gone and then one.  I'll make more if I come across the right 1/4" thick rubber sheet, I may need one myself now but probably not.

Shed Lot - May:

Shed Lot 202105 S01.jpg

Some odds & ends:

- Edmund 35mm Finder Rings -- all original & good condition.

- Sheldon-made Slo-Mo Rods -- 6mm but can be bored a bit larger.

- EQ C/W Shaft Acorns -- CG-5 / Polaris.

- 5" (138mm) Tube Rings -- plastic, but decent quality, felt-lined.

- Meade 90mm Cradle -- bottom half metal, top is plastic, but carried the long 390 OTA.

- Pretty Chrome Bolts -- attached my C5 Wedge to the tripod.

- Swift Brown .965" Eyepiece Adapter -- came off that salt-damaged Lafayette (SYW) 60mm.

- Celestron (Taiwan) 1.25" Terrestrial Prism -- from my C80P, looks like it's never been used.

As usual, you pay shipping.

DO NOT REPLY ON THIS THREAD!!  PM me if you're interested in any of this... stuff.

- Prism is gone.

- 2 of the Slo-Mo Rods are gone.

The 60mm OTA and Celestron thingy are gone. Here's some new stuff:

MegaStar manual and book. I don't think anyone uses this software anymore, but these are in nice shape.

IMG_0487.JPEG

2 big gears. I can measure them if you want, they're maybe 10" across and 1/4" thick, please don't make me count the teeth, they were for a 16" split ring scope project that never happened. Comes with these little setting circles too.

IMG_0464.JPEG

As usual, you pay shipping.

EDIT: Gears have found a home

When I need to count this sort of thing, I make marks every 10 teeth, so I don't lose count 2/3 of the way through, and start again...for the 5th time.....

Someone left a Zeiss 8x50 binocular on the fence rail by my neighborhood dumpster.  Of course, I could not leave it there!  smile.gif

It is in very, very, very, very poor condition.  Or worse.  I am not interested in restoring it (if it can be restored) but I took it home with the thought that one of you might be.

I think I can ship it for USPS medium flat rate if it fits or thereabouts.  PM me if you'd like me to send it along to you.

I have a few more pics if you'd like to see them.

I would gladly restore those magnificent binoculars; but I live 10,000 kilometers from you.
For those who are gracious of your gift, I inform you that I have recovered objectives and eyepieces ruined by fungus and delamination with homemade methods; that I describe on this site.

https://www.cloudyni...-how-to-repair/

Using Johnson baby oil (or Olive oil) the compound lenses adhere perfect and by painting the edges of the lenses with black fiber, the contrast improves a lot.
The stains on the prisms are rubbed off by toothpaste and the rest is mechanical recovery and paint.
I hope this serves someone.
Regards.
Edgardo

Just a Note to the Folks I'm shipping stuff to:  Hang On!  I gotta find little boxes for these items -- don't want USPS charging $20 for what would be a $2 thingy!

THESE ARE GONE:

- Prism.

- ALL of the Slo-Mo Rods.

- Edmund Finder Rings.

- Swift Brown .965" Eyepiece Adapter -- came off that salt-damaged Lafayette (SYW) 60mm.

That was very generous of you! Those are extremely hard to come by. Kudos for offering it up to a lucky classics restorer/user. It’s generosity, helpfulness, friendship, and encouragement like this that keeps the Classics Forum the BEST on CN!

I’ll second that. I have been fortunate enough to find parts or projects that made a few people very happy when I pay it forward.

I found a few other things when I found that vixen polar scope.I have two 60mm objectives from an old binocular, each in it's original cell. Bino objectives like these are  typically f4-f5 and would be great for a 60mm finder build or hand held rft. Free to whomever wants one.

The 10" LX6 mount and the Megastar books are both still available. If nobody takes the LX6 in the next week or so I will probably just take it to the dump; it takes up a fair bit of space.

I found these motor drive parts for a pipe mount, seems to be around 1.5" shaft diameter. They're in a USPS flat rate box so $16 to ship 'em anywhere in the US (CONUS/AK/HI/PR).

Free to good homes

*The Focuser and Eyepiece box are sold and not included*

NEW Dob truss shroud material approx 60” x 112” dust from storage
70mm f/5 objective good glass cell is rough ABS rough cut off from Chinese OTA
Aluminum tubing rough ends 1-1/4” dia usable length after cleanup 12” 5 pc
NEW Kydex 0.028" thick for Dob truss UTAs etc 12” x 32”

Red "tail light" adhesive film, probably ~8-1/2 x 11 for flashlights etc.

Not in photo, I have a bundle of new EL wire stuff , includes a power unit that takes a 9V battery, a wall wart, a length of white and a length of red EL wire. You can adjust the brightness of, and blink the intensity. Caveats: the controls are a little iffy, the battery cover is missing, and the power unit emits a high pitch whine like a a mosquito, so you don't want it next to your ears your head! Otherwise pretty cool. I'm keeping all this together as a bundle.
