I found the 1.25" - .965" adapters worked find on the Nikon Zooms.

however valuable in-focus was saved by inserting them directly into my TV BV.  Not sure if all BV's will be as compliant.

Mike,

I posted a separate thread about it, but it turns out that the ring that is directly over the 0.965" adapter can be removed for further savings of in-focus. have you tried that?
