Monday night mostly cloudy with a hazy hole in the south for a couple of hours around midnight.

Tuseday night 100% overcast.

Apparently Thurs-Sat will be good.

Let's hope so.

Dave

Wed night cloudy/hazy untill the wee hours.

Thursday night GLORIOUS! from 9 pm onward....

The big question is whether the temperature will ever reach 70 F.   So far it has not, day or night.  Days have been in the mid to high 60's and nights in the 50's......

I regret bringing short pants.

Dave

Yes last night was awesome!  To much seen to describe here now.  Tons of door prizes were given out.  I won a sample of iridium rich layer sample from the kt boundary.   Here is the group pic as was planned.  I'm wearing the cloudy nights shirt...

I'm the one that's not in the picture as I had to bale.  I hope someone got a ka-ching from me at the door prize draw.

I only had time off until Saturday so would have had to leave Thursday AM, just as the skies cleared, as my business partner is also a basketball ref and had some games to work this weekend.

Couldn't see driving 3000 miles to camp under cloudy skies.

Hope tonight and tomorrow are great for you guys!

Jim, that's too bad you couldn't make it, I was looking out for you.

Best star party I've ever been too. Mainly because of the people I spent hours and hours hanging out with like Al Nagler, Mike Lockwood, John Pratte, Joe Wambo, Tom Peters, Howie Glatter, Dave Cotterell, plus Sergio at the end.

I'm in the green shirt at the back, trying to escape Dave's great shadow. Thanks for posting the photo Darren.

We got in about 3 hours Monday night, nothing on Tuesday, but were out until after 3am Wednesday and Thursday. So from an observing point of view, I was very happy with what I managed to see over my 4 nights.

It's a bit of an effort for me to get to, but I had so much fun I wouldn't rule out coming back again soon.

Hope everyone traveling up north today from the WSP are having safe travels.  I just saw the weather story on NBC news - it showed two huge pile ups, one in Tennessee and one in Pennsylvania.  Not a good day to be driving in the east.

I took the western, I 75 route.  Fog.   Rain most of the day and a bit of ice around Knoxville.  Ok in Dayton tonight.

There are no fire ants in the motel room..

Anxiously awaiting Mike Lockwood's write-up of the star party.  I really enjoy his writing style and photos.  I hope he does one!

Since the sun and shadows made it difficult to see our faces I cropped the image and increased the resolution so as to try to get a better pic of just the people and this should make it easier to see our faces ....

I got my hat on and the shadows are covering my face. Probably a good thing... LOL. Should have taken it off.

I just got home to Australia a few hours ago. It was a 33 hour extravaganza from Kissimmee to Miami to Dallas to Sydney to Newcastle.

Jordan and I did some more touring around Florida for 6 days, and had a great time. I really love driving around there because you don't have to indicate or give way to anyone or anything, it's fantastic.

I'm still buzzing from the star party, we had such a great week. Thanks again to everyone we spent time with for being so hospitable. See you all again at another star party.
