Jonathan, it is nice but my 16" F4 takes it to another level. I just got an FSQ-106N that I am hoping to bino with :p

Hey guys

I'm looking for a bag for FS-152 standard version so I don't need to carry the hard case some time. Any suggestions? I checked tenba website and the longest bag is 135mm.

Thanks
Howard

Yes a fellow here is very kind to sell his FS 152 to me. But if there is another one for sale I'll also buy it as a friend of mine is also looking for one.

Mine was made in 2004.  It's the short version.  Not a mark on her, and 2 years ago I took her to Tak America, I live south of Houston, and had Fred G. clean and check the collimation.  A truly remarkable scope.

Congratulations Howard! I am glad that you found one. if you don't have one already, get a Atmospheric Dispersion Corrector (ADC). ZWO makes an inexpensive one that can be found at:

Thanks or the advice Jonathan. In never used it before. Does it make a big difference for lunar and planet observing?

Sandy, you have 22 scopes in your sig, where does the FS 152 rank in that huge group?

I don't take it out as much as I want too.  It's kinda bulky, and due to its perfection, both optically and mechanically, it scares me to death that I might ding it or whatever.  With no marks on it anywhere, the Camera Angle Adjuster, and the optics that were recently collimated and cleaned at Tak America (I live just south of Houston), I couldn't ask for anything more.

In my list of scopes it ranks, probably first or second.  It's a tie with my 16" Teeter-Zambuto.  When I need light gathering capabilities, the Teeter is the best.  When I'm looking at planets where light gathering ability is not an issue, the FS-152 wins.

Sandy,

if you put a handle on it carrying it vertically through doorways is less risky.

How much work did he have to do cleaning and collimating and did he let you know what work he had to do on it to get it perfect again? I'll bet based on your description it did not need much work...

Should take possession of one over the weekend. Will report when I get back from the road trip! I already sold my FS-128 to help ease the sting.  dancey.gif
