Similar to the "Pentax Rosette", yet this target has more "time".

Used the "stock-"unmodded" K5ii for this grab in the ED80 w/ the Williams Optics .8 FR & the Baader UHC-S "L"-Booster filter. (20) 360s, 800iso, Captued 12-31-15/1-1-16, (20) 240s, 1600iso 1-1-16/1-2-16 (19) 480s, 800iso 1-2-16/1-3-16.

DSS (32b to 16b conversion in PS6)  w/Carboni's & Annies Actions

Did an "L" layer, so it's an LLRGB. Cropped to frame/clean up edges, from the original view. It's not great, yet shows one can get "fair" results w/ an "un-modded, non-"Canikon" DSLR. As always, more "time on target" would enhance, yet came out "fairly" well, and Alnitak isn't the "overbearing devil star" :D .

Very nice image and quite impressive for an unmodded camera!

Thanks Scott..this is why I post these..to show others/newbies that one can get acceptable results w/o a modded cam. Granted, modding will help, yet, one can achieve results w/an "off the shelf" DSLR. (It's also in the processing, yet that's kind of a "learned skill").

I like your shot. I use a stock K5IIs and am very happy with the results I am getting. I look forward to seeing more stuff you do with your K5II.

Another Pentax K3 Horsehead and Flame neb. unmodded simple 10-30second shots using an explore scientific 127mm apo. Very little effort put into this shot I was surprised I captured anything in my first try with this setup.
