Please remember that guests can also read these posts, so don't be too specific about your location or provide other information you don't want the whole world to see.  One may want to PM other members in your area and meet at a public location.

Hello.....I am totally hooked on astrophotography and have other interests in Audio Engineering and Audio Productions, and also a musician. Anybody interested in astro photgraphy around the Minneapolis/St.Paul area? Doesn't seem to be many people around here who have even heard of this hobby.

I live in Excelsior.  I've dabbled in astrophotography, but decided it was too steep and frustrating of a learning curve for my impatience to tolerate.  And would require more money for good equipment than I was willing to spend.  I do mostly outreach with my equipment, literally setting up on a street corner in Excelsior and showing people Saturn and the moon in the summer months.

You might want to check in with the Minnesota Astronomical Society (mnastro.org) to see if there are other APers in the area.

Brian

P.S. I'm also a musician.

Au contraire, there is a thriving astrophotography community in the Twin Cities.  The Minnesota Astronomical Society has over 400 members, many of them AP'ers.  The club also has local observatories with high-quality and large-aperture telescopes that club members can use for personal AP, and an "Imaging" special interest group that is currently doing a series of teaching programs to help each other improve as AP'ers.
