You may have forgotten to register this Tasco Model 304 when I first bought this scope in a wooden case, wood seperaters, no styro, complete and in new condition from an older couple here in Ontario for $150 C. A search and determination by the resident experts on CN set its date as late 59. Either that or I missed it in your extensive list, at the time I was of the impression it would be listed.

The Scope 2258 f/20's that you have listed on lines 407 and 408 are the same telescope. I looked at an old copy of your registry and the one on 407 has the owner as Datapanic. The one on 408 has me as the owner. I bought the scope from Dan (Datapanic) in July 2015. The only other change would be that it has wood inserts, and not Styrofoam.

Don't know about y'all, but it feels like a Time Warp: I started the Registry of Vintage Japanese Telescopes 8 Years ago last week...
The idea: Grab all the data available on all the old scopes we have, and use it to figure out - regardless of brand - who made what & when. That original intent expanded, to include information about all those old companies -- their origins, histories, etc. Talk about a challenge!
In the beginning, that meant data calls -- pestering y'all on a regular basis. As a former DOD IT guy, I hated getting those from this office & that office, with no one office asking for the same info, much less in the same format. That got real old real quick!
So, Thanks to All Y'all for your submissions & corrections. It's been a long strange trip -- I didn't realize how long until today...

Hi.
Just had a look at the registry. Wow Bob, that's quite some work.
Out of interest, I notice that there aren't many old Vixen refractor scopes. Coming from the UK and being very familiar with the SGL forum, classic Vixens are not that rare. Are they really that uncommon amongst CN readers (more North American-based), or perhaps these 80's period scopes are not quite classed as 'classic' yet?
I'm from the 60's - so I must be classic by now!

No anti-Vixen bias here -- got a mini (V) collection myself. My initial data calls emphasized vintage Japanese scopes with serial numbers; and, I also didn't want to duplicate existing registries (Swift, Unitron, etc.)...
So, if you have Vixens from 1992 or earlier, shoot me a PM with the info -- happy to add it.
And, after a year+ window-shopping on ZEN Market, I learned that there are Vixen & other brands with models I rarely if ever see in the USA. IOW: Got an old oddball? [[ Debra, stop looking at me like that!! ]] Let's get it Registered, too!

Sending PM(s) with eight nine Vixens to add to the Registry, two of which have been passed along.

Great work JW. You’ve done a real yeoman’s job here. Such that can only be described as a true labor of love.
