Just curious, what browser are you using?
--Jon
Firefox 45.0.1
I can't use IE Explorer because this is an XP laptop and since Microsoft does not support
XP at all any more, I can't download the latest IE browser.

I googled around and see that this happens in some other forums too. It had to do with a signature dimensions permissions problem. The only difference I see for you guys is the number of posts you have. Maybe a moderator or someone could check it out for you. I use Firefox also.....Sorry I couldn't help you get it going.

Well, have you got it yet? Did that PM thread I shared with you from CB help any?

I think that anyone who has this image in their signature put it in there before the forum was upgraded.
If I'm not mistaken, DartGuy just put this on his signature last night using the code I provided earlier. As I mentioned above, I think it may be a signature dimensions permissions problem. Certain groups of users may be able to do it where others cannot because the image restriction doesn't apply to that group. That's why I referenced the post count. So far, it seems to be failing for users with post counts less than 100. I think there may be a bug in the IPB forum software that causes it. Maybe not. Either way, an admin will probably need to address it by doing what you suggested.

A restriction based on post count may indeed be the answer. Note that I added that image to my signature only a month ago.
I've noticed other differences in permissions that occur for those with low post counts, like limited numbers of PMs, and no option to delete an entire post.

This is correct. I just copied and pasted your text and then put in Louisville and it works for me.
Thanks

Yes, I noticed! CN is a great place for learning and sharing. I think once you reach 100 posts, you should have all privileges... I think...
Best regards!

Try using my Clear Dark Sky into your signature in your Profile.... There are 2 ways simple like mine, or more complex.
You can only have 2 URL links here at CN. If mine works, one or the other, just replace your CDS name for mine (in the bold) (it does not need to be in bold in your Signature)
simple way......
<a href=http://www.cleardark...trmLkIAkey.html> <img src="http://www.cleardark...c=2455242"></a>
more complex........
<a href=http://www.cleardark...trmLkIAkey.html> <img src="http://www.cleardark...cs0.gif?1"></a>
Remember all signs like < / and " have to be in and exact..dont mix up < and>
Here are MY CDS instructions, (scroll Down) http://www.cleardark...trmLkIAkey.html

I hope that it is just a restriction on the number of posts--cuz i would like to add this to my signature as well. I do stand by that it's a server issue based on the error message and repeatability of some of the members here.
The number of post restrictions are 30 so you are beyond that. Did you try to use MY Storm Lake Iowa site?
have ANY newer members been able to add this to their signatures SINCE the new webmasters took over? I don't recall this
coming up until now?

idk. I tried using the various suggestions posted thus far and I still get the error message. So, it probably wasn't an "upgrade", but definitely some kind of policy/configuration. I too am going to wait until I hit 100 posts and see if anything changes...

OK, for future generations, the current definitive code to paste into your signature block is something like this:

where you need to substitute the URL above with the URL for your specific minature clear sky chart display.
Note, the IT team fixed the specific issue affecting the OP. There was a previously unknown glitch with post counts and time. It affected new members who posted more than 30 posts in less than 30 days (which is normally rare since most new members join-up and read for a while).
I will also add that if all of the elaborate signatures get on your nerves or slow you down, you can choose to turn them all off by checking the box at the top of your "Settings/Ignore Preferences" control panel.
Thanks to everyone.
