Well....  this has been probably the most miserable winter in my danish location in the last 10 years: cloudy and rainy, not even cold. From November until today, i have recorded only 6 observations and that is really disappointing as summer is coming with the long nights. The Telementor needs more time under the stars, and two nights ago was merely ok for the balcony, but not to take the Telementor to my dark spot near home. In any case was good to test the QCA with success.

Same remarks on our winter too here in the North of France, never had it so mild, so rainy and cloudy... :-(

A bit strange, as I've logged MANY more clear nights (or partially clear) than in any other winter since 1995. Clear here meaning cloudless. I had FOUR clear nights in a row in December, which has NEVER happened to me before in December.

I've basically had one or two clear or partially clear (one or more hours) nights per week on average most of the winter. That said, most nights have been hazy or very hazy. Very few nights have been TRULY clear in that sense of the word. Still, I've been able to observe quite a lot and that has been quite unusual for me.

Now we enter the spring season and this usually means LOADS of clear nights here, especially in late March and all April and May.

Clear skies!

Skymeca still have 5 of them ready to be shipped if needed... well, when I mean ready, that is with the lockdown of all France, so shipping may be a bit long :D

Hi there, hope everyone is safe and in good health. Lockdown came surprisingly with non stop clear skies for the last 4 weeks, I have observed almost every single night from my yard, I only wish they had switched off the public lights... Anyway, I must have spent equally some nights with my AS80, the old timer Manent and my Tak DL. The genuine M44 QCA did as good (in the dark) as my SkyMeca version, no difference at all in the usage. So, no dropping knob for me here.

The sad thing is that I realized, eventually, that the nicest views remain in the Tak, which is not surprising (it is even logical).

The Manent has the fun factor of its old age, 90 years old and still giving superb views on the Moon. The little Zeiss felt a bit lonely in the end...

I have the last two made, after that, there is none anymore, so it will be difficult to make some again without a full batch of 10 again...

Thank you Sylvain! I repainted the body in dark gray Zeiss and the screw in black. With the thickness of the black paint, the screw is more difficult to screw but is also more difficult to drop. The solution was simple.

Hi Spica24

May I ask which color code is the Zeiss gray? i have from my scale models the palette of grays and greens of the WWII german vehicles, so i could use some of it... :-)

Thanks!

Carlos
