Welcome to CN, Gianluca9999.

That is some scope! I can't say it looks familiar to me! Enjoy the scope and the best site for astronomy and telescopes on the planet!

joe

Now the Astroscan is very familiar. And it's in good condition! I live about ten minutes from where they were made and sold - Edmund Scientific, Barrington, NJ.

Oh mio Dio! Mie scuse Gianluca9999! Una figlia molto carina anzi! Ma io sono lassù in età. 1950 è l'anno che sono nata!  lol.gif

Before the moderators go ballistic, Gianluca9999, that is the Edmund Scientific Co that is a 10 minute drive from where I live. As a young man, I spent much time and much money at Edmunds!

So wonderful to meet you, Gianluca9999!!!! Your english is much better than my italian. I know just enough to get me in trouble. grin.gif

Show us pictures of the focuser as well as the objective lens with the dew shield removed.  Look at the edges of the lens from an angle and see if there are markings and if there are post photos of that too.  I still believe it is an old Astro-Physics  6" F12 pre-Starfire triplet.  Too  long to be an F10 but too short to be an F15.

Welcome to Cloudy Nights!

Beautiful scope!  Posting your lady friend beside it really gives an idea how large it is!!

I don't think I've ever seen a mount like that, a very interesting design.

The problem with making "classic telescope" friends is that they get you into trouble.

Especially when they live locally.
