Finally!!!! After 2 years and 3 different attempts I managed to get the shot that I envisioned at my favorite camping site. depending on which why you look at it its either a 6, 12 or 48 frame panorama. I used my sky tracker and did 6 different panels for the sky shot at 6400 ISO 30'' F2.8 with my canon 6d and then turned it of and did 6 more for the ground with about a 50% overlap between the 2. Each panel consists of 4 shot that where stacked using "mean" mode in PS to reduce some of the noise created at shooting 6400 ISO. Enjoy, and tell me what you think!

Well done. I like the symmetry and I think the clouds on the horizon added to the image.

Looks great. You did a nice job of blending all that together.

Thank you! .... I spent the better part of 3 hours getting that **** tree line perfect. Using the "band aid" tool on the sky background and the eraser tool at 50%  blend at a 5 pixel diameter on the trees in the foreground helped me get it **** near perfect

Great work, Shan.

The Milky Way over Scott Lake is on my bucket list too.

I like some of your other images on Flickr. I am now following you.

Perhaps we will cross paths sometime (Dexter Star Party 7/30/16)?

This was taken the night of july 1st. It is a 12 panel pano, 6 panels for the sky which were tracked wit an ioptron skytracker and 6 for the ground (untracked)
Each panel consists of a stack of 4 exposures 30 second f2.8 iso 6400

I used a canon 6d /w a rokinon 14mm f2.8

Awesome.  Thanks for the techs.  How did you deal with the severe distortion when blending the panels? I have that lens and shoot with a FF camera, so I know how tough it can be.  Awesome job!

Lots of overlap. plan on losing 20-30% of the edges
