iAstroHub is the world's first mobile and IoT platform for astrophotography. A user can interact with all astrophotography devices from any mobile device using only a web browser. iAstroHub is a software package embedded in ARM Linux platforms. This project has been developed on various platforms for more than 4 years as you see in the forum (Thanks to 1300+ replies and 150,000+ views ^0^ ). Now, Raspberry Pi 3 (RPi3) is used for iAstroHub 3.0.

Features:

- only need a web browser on a mobile device to control everything! ( "i" stands for internet)
- control an autoguider
- control a DSLR camera (Canon, Nikon, and Pentax)
- control DSLR setting and Liveview via qDslrDashboard
- control a CCD camera and a filter wheel for imaging (almost all brands are supported)
- control a focuser
- control Flip-Flat for flat-fielder and lens cover
- show real-time guiding error graphs and alert logs
- preview images taken by a camera
- perform dithering between frames
- manipulate histogram of images from a CCD camera
- perform plate-solving using the standalone Astrometry.net engine
- re-align mount based on the position from plate solving
- show skychart and control mount from built-in Skychart (Cartes du Ciel)
- show a plate-solving result directly in Skysafari and re-align the mount from Skysafari
- support the control of a mount from Skysafari on iOS and Android
- save all images on a USB flash drive
- speak imaging progress
- push notification to smart phones or smart watches
- low power consumption
- small enough to be installed on the telescope
- open-source software

What's new in iAstroHub 3.0?

- Native CCD control for QSI, SX, SBIG,  ATIK, and QHY cameras.
- Support INDI-compatible camera and devices. You can control almost all astro devices from the web browser now
- Pushover notification: So you will get a notification to a smart phone/watch when the imaging sequence is completed or the guiding error exceeds a certain threshold. RPi3 needs to connect to internet via Ethernet or Mobile hotspot (USB tethering from a smartphone)
- More support for autoguiders (using Linguider 3.3.0)
- RPI3 speaks! The imaging progress can be reported.
- Mount control: LX200, iOptron, Nexstar/Skywatcher, TheSkyX+Paramount
- Web-based VNC: So there is no need to use a PC for initial setup.
- Upgrade is easy now. Simply insert a USB drive and press "Upload patch"
- The 38-page manual is now included :)

Supported Hardware:

Autoguiders
Orion Starshoot autoguider, QHY5, QHY5-II, QHY5L-II, QHY6, ATIK, Starlight Xpress, ZWO ASI cameras

DSLR Cameras
Canon (since 300D) and Nikon (since D50) DSLR cameras. Pentax DSLR cameras (Refer to http://pktriggercord.melda.info/)

CCD Cameras and Filter Wheels
Native control with GoQat: QSI and Starlight Xpress
Native control with OpenSkyImager: SBIG, ATIK, and QHY (5, 5ii, 6, 8, 8L, 9, 10, 11,12, IC8300
INDI driver: FLI, Apogee, Moravian, ATIK, ZWO ASI, SX, SBIG, QSI, etc.

Mounts
Controlled by Skychart: mounts using LX200, iOptron, Nexstar/Skywatcher, TheSkyX protocols
Controlled by SkySafari: Almost all mounts are supported. Refer to http://skysafariastronomy.com/

Focusers
Native control: Robofocus
INDI driver: Robofocus, Moonlite, FocusLynx, etc.

Manual:

With the great help from THX59, the manual is included with the package. I provide both PDF and MS Word format. If you have any comment on the Manual, please edit it with tracked changes and send me.

Feel free to translate the manual. Please add "Translated to .... by ..." between the original authors' names and the date on the first page. Keep the original date of the manual so that it is easy to track the revision.

Download:

https://drive.google...cEE?usp=sharing

Eveything is bundled in a single file (.7z). Uncompress the file using 7zip. 7zip is used because of the best compression ratio. The file size is 5.2GB :) Inside the package, you will see 1) the image file, 2) Manuals in PDF and MS Word formats, and 3) A folder of source codes and instruction

Read the manual and enjoy iAstroHub 3.0 !

Unfortunately, I seem to be having a problem with 3.0. Using a Nikon D800 connected via USB in manual mode, Bulb exposure, Raw + Jpeg basic. I have started dslrdashboard server from the admin page, and am able to control the camera from qdslrdashboard. When I try from the dslr main web page, I see it display, "Frame 1 of 1 completed", "Frame 1 of 1 exposing 1/1 s", "Downloading...", "No JPG file!", "Ready to capture images." (in that sequence).  The shutter is not activated from the web interface.

If I take a photo with qdslrdashboard, then go back to the web page, and request a photo, it displays the same message sequence except that it ends with "Downloaded." but in this case it is the photo that was taken earlier in qdslrdashboard.

Version RPi3_step22 did work for me.

Can anyone see what I'm doing wrong?

Thanks

  Jerry

Jerry,

Make sure you

1) select the DSLR protocol in the Admin page to "Nikon".

2) stop the DslrDashboard server before using the web interface.

If still having the error, please run this command in MobaXterm

sudo gphoto2 --set-config bulb=1 --wait-event=10s --set-config bulb=0 --wait-event=2s

Does the shutter open and close? Send me the screen output.

Version RPi3_step22 did work for me.

> I didn't change anything for Nikon Control.

Hi Anat,

playing a little bit in house with the new release :waytogo:

I have an Astrolumina Alccd8l (equivalent to the QHY8L) and one thing I noticed is that it wasn't recognized by the system out of the box because of a missing line in /etc/udev/rules.d/85-qhy.rules.

The missing line is

ATTRS{idVendor}=="1618", ATTRS{idProduct}=="6005", RUN+="/sbin/fxload -t fx2lp -I /etc/qhyccd/qhy8l.hex -D $env{DEVNAME}"

After adding that line, the CCD is correctly recognized

Thank you.

Hi Anat,

I didn't know about shutting down dslrdashboard server after using qdslrdashboard, but that didn't seem to help. I have selected "Nikon".

using MacTerm to the iAstrohub...

root@iAstroHub:~# sudo gphoto2 --set-config bulb=1 --wait-event=10s --set-config
bulb=0 --wait-event=2s
gphoto2: symbol lookup error: gphoto2: undefined symbol: gp_camera_get_single_co
nfig

Thanks

Try running the web interface without using qDSLRdashboard first. Does it work?

Next, please run

sudo gphoto2 -v
sudo gphoto2 --auto-detect
sudo gphoto2 -L
sudo gphoto2 --set-config bulb=1 --wait-event=10s --set-config bulb=0 --wait-event=2s

Then use the SD card with iAstroHub 2.2 and run

sudo gphoto2 -v
sudo gphoto2 --auto-detect
sudo gphoto2 -L
sudo gphoto2 --set-config bulb=1 --wait-event=10s --set-config bulb=0 --wait-event=2s

Type the commands into the console by yourself. Don't copy and paste.

Anat

Please ignore my previous post. I found the reason

http://gphoto-softwa...ig-td16208.html

The latest gphtoo2 2.5.10 needs the latest libgphoto2. I will send the patch very soon.

dear, I have to say the image "https://drive.google...cEE?usp=sharing" is not available for Chinese astrophotography society. It is a pity. So could you please provide the other available link? Thanks a lot.

Plesae get the patch (30MB) from:

https://drive.google...U3RTd2FSckVycEE

Steps:

1. Uncompress the files to a USB flash drive (FAT32 format). For example, patch.sh must be at the root directory of the drive.

2. Press "Upload Patch from USB Flash Driver" on the Admin page

3. After about 2-3 sec, Refresh the Admin page once (because the Admin page is patched also)

4. Press "Upload Status" to see the progress

5. Wait until "DONE". It may take about 20 mins.

Patch Log (as of Oct 3, 2016)

1. Update Admin page
- correct a contributor's name
- clarify that "GREEN LED" will be off when shutting down
- Upload Status is revised.

2. Edit INDI Control Panel: Click "Connect" to establish the link

3. Update gphoto2/libgphoto2 to version 2.5.10

4. Update udev rules file to support Astrolumina Alccd8l

Hi Anat,

So the update did not appear to update for me. Can the USB stick be a MS-DOS fat 16 format? The nested folder was copied so that patch.sh is at the root.

I never saw an Upload Status button, the File Status button remained and reported done. The "Finished, Enjoy it" etc. text did not appear. Is there a was to determine that the patch happened other than visual display on the Admin page, or a way to determine that the USB drive mounted?

Thanks

  Jerry

To answer my own question. I reformatted the drive to FAT32 and it appears to be progressing quite well as it should. Thank you Anat. Sorry for the noise...

Update finished successfully and the Nikon D800 now works.

Thanks again   Anat.
