I can't find a lot of info on this scope so here's a wee bit, along with an
Interesting story.
It was advertised locally for $60. I didn't really want another clone-type 60mm
Dinkerscope but, it was pretty **** close by, so off I went.
The scope bits were in excellent cosmetic condition but it had a mold looking
bit on the inner lens so I offered $40. Nope. As I was leaving I noticed the seller
tossing a few of the Styrofoam bits into a dumpster. Sheesh!!!
Whoa I says, a collector would appreciate having those bits. He said he was
just gonna assemble it and didn't care. I tried to drive away but couldn't.
I was in the throes of a temporary, mental Styrofoam/Dumpster meltdown.
I had to have it now. I parked and offered him $50. He hesitated but said OK.
Oh boy, just what I need, another Dinkerscope.
At least it had the box and the Styrofoam bits and ya' just gotta' love that focuser.
It was missing the 2-piece sun projector, the Barlow, the poro prism, Sun and
Moon filters (not sure this model came with one), and most of the plastic plugs.
No sympathy needed here as I have the correct spares my little scopebuds.
The rest of the goods were newish and obviously used very little. I attribute the
tube paint dings to this seller as all the parts were badly placed in the box
when I first saw it. Oh the pain!!!
Wish I'd got it before he did. We've ALL been there huh?
Oh, the moldy looking lens issue was probably just the remnants of a colorful
bug splatter on the inner objective. It cleaned up well.
