"Epilog:  I received an e-mail from e-bay warning me that a seller's account with whom I'd recently communicated, was hacked by a third party.  They are working with the account owner to resolve the issue and I should not buy or pay for anything currently on auction. I should also keep an eye on my own account for suspicious activity given I communicated with the account owner."

I make it a habit every day or two to check my ebay account to see what items I have for sale. Since I don't currently have anything out there for sale, if something shows up, then it's time to worry...

Neat 4.5" Vixen SkyScope.  I had one of these several years back.  Fantastic optics with a very stable Alt/Az mount.  Junk finder and plastic focuser.  A great scope for $70

This 452 has the same mount as the 105 on Goodwill.  BUT, my 452 has a mount that is heftier than these two mounts.

I'm wondering if mine is an older version, or did Goto make substitutions in what they supplied to H-S?

From previous post: "Not sure what this is, but it looks interesting.  $50 New Jersey.  Link"

It's a Monolux 4380 with a manufacturers logo of a diamond symbol with OTS inside.

Anyone know what that one is?

Not exactly a classic, but a decently priced C5 with a wedge pod and trunk. I think that is a wedge pod. No pictures of the optics though. It looks like the seller does not know much about and is clearing out a house.

Looks more like a C8 on a homemade tripod. I would go grab it if I could.

That is a Tuthill isostatic tripod, not a home made.  They are interesting, stable, difficult for azm polar alignment.

It does look more like a C8 now that I look over it again and see the size of the trunk. The telrad just makes it look smaller.

There was another FCT 76 for around $1000 and it sold fast.

That 24" Dob has a thick 4.5" mirror so that has to weigh a ton.

big difference beween an FC-76 and  FCT-76 The FC was $1000. The FCT goes for a lot more.

Thanks to the tireless efforts of a fellow CNer, that Asahi-style Monolux will be heading to The Swamp -- strictly for comparison purposes -- before eventually going to another CNer.  Another SAVE.  Love it!!

I guess the T slipped by me.  I can't see it making a big diff in the eyepiece.  Had two FS78's and i can't see a scope getting a better image than what i got with them.

Mayflower (Towa) 60x700 AZ on Goodwill --> https://www.shopgood...e-36882668.html

IOB, and with that great Towa / Tani .965" prism diagonal (if you need a good one).  Ships via FedEx.  Auction Ends on 2/11/2017 7:51:00 PM PT.

Kmart Focal (Tanzutsu) 60mm Zoomer on Goodwill --> https://www.shopgood...n-36825869.html

BIN for just $15!  With the recent interest in converting vintage Zoomers to spotters, here's a cheap one to work on.  Lens pix looks good.  Ships via FedEx.  Auction Ends on 2/10/2017 6:45:00 PM PT.

B&L Criterion 4000 with Case on Goodwill --> https://www.shopgood...m-36869036.html

Don't laugh!  Dave is showing us how to test & fix the correctors on these Criterion SCTs.  Get one cheap, and it's not a waste.  Excellent cosmetics!  Ships via UPS.  Auction Ends on 2/8/2017 7:39:00 PM PT.

Bushnell Voyager 60mm EQ on Goodwill --> https://www.shopgood...5-36790973.html

Lots of plastic junk on the OTA, but who cares??  The GEM is the Hino/Mizar/Kenko variant of the reliable old Towa EQ-2, and is modular enough to easily adapt to a similar-weight vintage scope.  Ships via UPS.  Auction Ends on 2/8/2017 6:36:00 PM PT.

Oh, that is really neat.  Chas, it's the 1" shaft mount with a 6" f/6 OTA on it, so the proportions make it look like an 8" on the bigger mount.  I've never seen one of these Siriuses decked out like that.  And while taking deep sky astrophotos with that mount would be frustrating, I've done it with a 4.25" Newt and a 2.4" guidescope, so it can work.  And of course, for planetary, it should be fine.

Very nicely equipped.  I think I remember that one (been going to every RTMC since 1979).  There is no such thing as a first place merit award, though.  They're all created equal.
