An HDR composition taken from the prime focus of a Celestron C90 with a Sony NEX-4R digital camera (ISO 100, 1 x 1/13s for sunlit portion, 4 x 1s for the earthshine). I have a lot more frames to combine to produce a sharper and less noisy image, but I felt this "draft" was worth sharing. The C90 can't really cover the full APS-C frame so the cusps of the crescent moon are a little soft. Taken on the evening of March 1, 2017. Image processing in Photoshop CC2017. Click the preview to see the full 1200 x 1200 pixel image (it also helps to view the image with a darkened background).

Mark thanks.

I've tried similar HDR treatments before but I think this is probably my best (for balance between the bright and dark sides of the moon). Now I just need to try something similar with a larger aperture. Next month should be a good time for catching the early crescent moon.
