I have some great news on the ArcsinhStretch module.

From today ArcsinhStretch is available as an official PixInsight update if you are running version 1.8.5.   It appears in the IntensityTransformations category and it has proper documentation.  Obviously I will no longer be producing versions for download within this thread.

Thanks to everyone for your encouragement and suggestions along the way and a special thanks to John Pane who built the versions for the Mac.

Documentation is here: http://pixinsight.co...inhStretch.html

Mark, I am new to Pixinsight and used the arcsinh stretch method as actions in Photoshop up to now - works very fine! As I am beginning to get warm with PI I looked for it but do not find it in the IntensityTransformations of my PI version. I have installed version 01.08.05 1353 Ripley (X64). Can you or anybody else give me a helping advice please?

Peter

It's not in the original version of 1.8.5 but should appear as a later update.  Check for available updates using the menu option Resources->Updates->Check for Updates.

Stumbled into this thread after some random Googling about alternatives to Masked Stretch - which i have been using quite a bit lately.

Just tried out the Arcsinhstretch on some data and im blown away by the color. Amazing job !!!
