This is an image of spiral galaxy NGC 2903 and Asteroid 8 Flora that I took 2 years ago and finally got around to processing.

I have hundreds of unprocessed images that go back several years. Why?

I’m a procrastinator!

Remember, hard work may payoff sometime in the future, but laziness pays off now.

Plus it will give me something to do in my retirement when the cloud cover is permanent and people have forgotten what the stars look like.

No rush Jerry,,, I'm in the same boat,, many unprocessed images dating a few years back,,, my small advantage is that I live
within 1/2 hr of sqm 21.8 skies, so its not the fact I'm procrastinating,,, it's that I keep shootin' new stuff lol

Yea, I keep shooting new stuff too.

Faster than I process the old stuff.

It will give me something to do in my old age. :-)

Very cool image, Jerry - your NGC 2903 looks great and the addition of a nice asteroid is icing on the cake!

Jerry, terrific image as always. I looked at the image on your site to see what kind of light pollution you have when imaging (just curious), and it says that it was taken in Maxwell, NJ. I searched on Google Maps, and it put me in Maxwell's Tavern across the river from Manhattan. While that would be a fun place to image from band2.sml.gif I suspect that it might have a tad too much light pollution...

Where was the image taken, or if you'd rather not say, what kind of skies do you have?

Thanks

EDIT: Nevermind, Bing Maps knows where Maxwell is.

Hi Dave,

Thank you.

The sky was about mag 20.33 on this particular night. It can get almost a half a mag darker there on a really good night.
