I did this one earlier during a bright waxing moon but now that it is past waning the skies were much better for imaging and no northern lights to boot !

This is done with a modded Canon 6D from 7 shots at ISO 1600 of four minutes each. I manually guide with a guide scope at high power. The mount is a CG4 with Vixen motors on it which tracks surprisingly well ! 

Temperature was around 5 above F. It is like having a naturally cooled camera !

This is full frame.

Manual guiding is some old school challenge nowadays - and almost half an hour (you must have warm blood or warm clothing, or both).
