Hubble's variable nebula must've been near its brightest when I made this sketch 3 weeks ago because it just leapt out of the eyepieces with a lot of detail, even when a terrible seeing was doing its best to mess everything up.

Wonderful capture of the Hubble Variable Nebula. I look at this one every winter and try and sketch it as it appears to change. It is particularly showy now.

Very nice textures in there Peter,  like flamey smoke. Still haven't seen this one despite it being such an interesting object.  I'll bet over time you could draw the change that goes on here as your level of detail is that high.

The final result of his work is fantastic, I find it more pleasant and realistic than most of the photographs.
