Folks also need to ensure they are not including location data embedded in images they post. Very accurate lat/long data.

RB/Poway area, SDAA member.
If the weather is not too cold, I try to attend the West Sycamore Star Party (4th Friday of each month).
I usually set up my NP101 on what we jokingly call "Refractor Alley" (concrete pad on the east side of the gravel parking lot).

In SD since 1969. live in South Bay area. Associate member Curiosity Peak Observatory, Julian CA. Have an old classic C8 (black) on a CGEM mount which i am in the process of converting from visual to guided astrophotography. Using DSLR at the moment, need to repair the Celestron Nightscape CCD (ripped out USB). Beautiful dark skies in Julian. Going to SE Wyoming for the Eclipse, this will be my 9th TSE. My astronomy teacher and friend was Jerry Schad.

Near the Lakes in Santee. Off and on, I've been an SDAA member about 2 or 3 times throughout my lifetime.

Hi San Diego County people,
I live in Julian and am working with a lot of community groups, such as the Julian Chamber of Commerce, Volcan Mountain Foundation, Wildlife Research Institute, and Julian Dark Sky Network, to put on an event called Julian Natural Wonderfest which will culminate with a star party. I'd like to invite all SD area amateurs who like doing outreach to come and set up a scope and help us make this first time event a great success. It's taking place at Jess Martin Park, on Saturday, August 11th, which is close to the peak of the Perseids. Those who set up a scope for the star party can camp for free! For information, and to let us know you're coming e-mail me at juliandarkskynetwork@gmail.com
Thanks,
Doug

Doug:
That sounds like some wonderful things you are doing. Unfortunately for me, I will be leaving early on the 12th to drive to Montana. No way to make your star fest.
