Too bad!!  It's Local Pickup Only in Muskegon, MI.  Auction Ends on 5/4/2017 6:43:00 PM PT.  Besides the rare motor drive, it has the volcano-top eyepieces.  Hope someone on CN nabs this one!"

Road trip!!

Looking at the Goodwill listing for this scope under Special Notes they mention "dated materials". Yeah like steel and brass, aluminum, and glass. This scope would be circa 1967, just like "The Graduate". Mr. McGuire: "I just want to say one word to you...just one word..."

was wondering how long it would be before one of you would spot that.   Was also wondering why we post things here. are the rest of the people unable to find these ads?

J. C. Penney 60mm x 1000mm, not in perfect condition, but looks good. Free shipping!

http://www.ebay.com/...9?ul_noapp=true

Seller says it's a Sears.  Really?  I contacted them as it says, "J. C. Penney".  They replied, and said there all the same.

I didn't know Sears made a 60mm x 1000mm.

Beat up and overpriced!

Another one of those very rare refractor/reflector combo units.

I did a little digging, and from what has been said here on CN in the past is that a JCP 60mm x 1000mm is suppose to actually be a good scope.  The seller contacted me again, and she said she is going to update and correct the ad.  I think there's going to be a much lowering of the price. (or not lol.gif )

I have one of those in transit from another CN member ;-)

Some interesting, partially cored Edmund Pyrex 5.75" mirror blanks, $48 for all four (that's only $12 per blank)! Would be good for making a Cassegrain or Gregorian.

These old Spencer Buffalo microscopes are really bullet proof. I have a couple in my collection and can attest to their quality in fit and finish. This one even has the mechanical stage with is very desirable. I rank these right up with my B & L microscopes and just a tad under my Zeiss but all in all a very collectible and well priced American classic.

I've mentioned before these items are particularly difficult to find separate from a sandcast C8.  Somebody needs to jump on this (could be sold already).  I've rearranged my scope priorities or I'd have fired off a PM to him already.

I totally concur, I paid a little more than that for one of mine and had to totally refinish, this set-up looks complete and in good shape, go for it!

There is a Sears 6333 and a Sears 6333-A.  I had both at the same time, once, long ago.  One was substantially higher end than the other.  I can't remember which.  Some research might be a good idea.

I wouldn't put it anywhere close to $200 worth even with shipping included.

I agree.

I posted a thread a while ago comparing my 6305 to my 6305a.  The 6305 is older.  The 6305a is a better build.

The first is a mirror lens, not an SCT.  These have an optical .window and a doublet with a second surface mirror for the secondary.  These don't tend to be as sharp as the SCTs, in my experience.  The second is an SCT.

Maybe. Only say one and the image was so dim it just as well be a 60mm.
