I created a simple software to load and view TheSkyX autoguider logs. I was using a script to load the logs in Excel, but it became cumbersome, so I created a dedicated software instead.

I attached a screenshot of the statistics tab.

I tried to post the executable, but it does not seem to work. I'll see if I can post it on an external site later and add a link if people are interested in trying it out.

This looks really cool.

If you have an account on the Bisque site then you could post the zipped executable over there in your "File Space" (Click on your name in the upper right corner). You could announce the software on that forum where more people who are interested will probably see it and then you could post the link to the zip archive over here in this thread.

Even though you need an account to participate in the support fora on the Bisque site, you don't need an account to download files from the file areas, so folks over here could download it easily, too - via the link.

This is what I am looking for. I am willing to test it out.

Thanks.

Sorry for the delay, I was away for the Canada Day weekend. I posted the software in a zip file on the Bisque website as suggested.

It show me this dialog box when I try to open a .log file.

I am using Windows 10 and nothing happen if I click continue.

One more issue is I can't change the size of the apps windows, so, some of the bottom part are cut off. Hope you can fix that too.

Hope to hear from you soon

Tom

Tommy,

It is likely because your autoguider log is not formatted the same as mine. Can you post an autoguider log I could use as an example? I will try to make the log reader more robust to different formats.

I have confirmed that the log formats have changed through different TheSkyX versions, so I made changes to the software to account for different autoguider log formats. However, some header parameters may not be displayed correctly at this time and a message will let you know which parameters could not be read. I would have to modify the user interface at run time based on the TheSkyX version that was used to generate the autoguider log file, and i don't know how to do this at this time.

In addition, the software will not read newer guiding parameters such as PEC and Guide Star data. I will try to add this capability shortly.

Version 1.2 of the software is available here;

https://www.bisque.c...alyzer.zip.aspx

Tom,

I confirmed I could read the log file you sent me with version 1.2, so it should work.

Hi EricG,

Thanks a lot and confirmed it can read the log. But some parts of information still not manage to display in full. Is it something regarding to screen size? I am using my FullHD notebook to view it. Below is the screenshot.

Hope you can manage to fix it.

Regards,

Tom

Hi EricG,

Can I request a function to print or save the report down as Jpeg in the next release?

Regards,
Tom

I modified the software to read several log formats that have been provided by different users.

I also added the capability to export the charts as images. Right click on a chart to export as PNG (preferred for graphics) or JPG files. Or, use the toolbar button to export all 4 charts at once as PNG files.

However, I cannot figure out why Tom would not see the whole form at a 1920x1080 resolution. The form height is less than 1080 and I tested the software at 1920x1080 and it works fine.

You can find version 1.4 at the same link.

Thanks a lot EricG. It is my fault because I not using the full 1920x1080 resolution in my notebook. After adjust the scale and layout in display properties, everything back to normal.

Hope to see more features soon.

Regards,

Tom

I added a few capabilities as suggested by a user on Software Bisque site:

-Average guide corrections/second (Hz)
-Total guide corrections
-Total time guiding (exposure length)

-Display in arcsec using the image scale loaded from the autoguider log. If your log does not have an image scale for both X and Y, you can double click on the image scale fields and enter a value manually.

You can find version 1.5 at the same link.

Dear Eric,

Here I post one of my log files (I include it in a .zip file, as it doesn't allow me to post the .log file).

Thanks

Hamed

Hamed,

There are 2 problems.

1. The analyzer software you have is an old version that does not load the latest log format. Sorry for not posting a newer version in a while, as there did not seem to be much interest from users.

2. The analyzer software can only load a single autoguiding session, and your log file contains multiple sessions. I saved one of your sessions into a single log file and my latest analyzer version opens it correctly.

I will post the latest version of the analyzer once I figure out how to post it. Note that the Software Bisque site has changed and the files I posted previously are gone.

Also, you may be interested in another log analyzer someone has built since then:

https://www.bisque.c...ls-to-github-2/

Eric
