What a gorgeous old telescope.  Thank you for bringing her back in all her function and glory.  Just to think of all the young minds that have looked through her and been overwhelmed by what they saw.  Thanks for reviving this.

My pleasure! Really was great fun and got paid on top! tongue2.gif

Something for you to read if you're housebound and haven't already done so!

Mike,

Did you get a picture of just the eyepieces that went with this scope that you could add to the post, especially the wide field?

No, sorry. All Huygens or orthos etc. on a turret. I made up an adapter so the Astronomy teacher could use modern eyepieces though.

Thought I'd revive the thread and get away from the squabbling eye piece forum!

Wow, neat thread! I recently completed a 6” f/15 Jaegers refractor and it is an amazing scope. As large refractors go the 6” f/15 seems to hit a sweet spot in terms of size, cost, and performance. I’d love to have a chance to spend some quality time with one of these classics.

Just for yucks... my baby...

Nice setup! (I like the re-purposed Cave mount)

Mike,

That Goto is a thing of beauty. The photo of the eyepiece end looks like something dreamed up by H.G. Wells. My experience with Goto has only been with small scopes, but even at 60mm, the craftsmanship is apparent. I hope the schools realize what they have. I think they should make it their mascot.

Thanks for bringing this up.
