Roland has just announced on the Yahoo Group that there WILL be a production run of the 10" Mak-Cass this year, and he will make 25 of them.

That's about the same number as the first run.

I spoke with someone at AP about the list and it goes all the way back to 1997. My name was put on in 2000, so I doubt I'll get the email or call but ....I am not holding out hope.

Thanks for the update, only AP_GTO come to me email anymore.

So I guess the 25 are already spoken for?  How much do they cost and what is the f ratio?

Cost has not been announced, the F-ration is 14.6 as I recall.

Maybe. The list is old and some if not many who signed up may no longer be interested or passed away while waiting and waiting and waiting.

Keep your fingers crossed if you are still obsessed but don't hold your breath.  flowerred.gif

Since no one has mentioned it on AP-UG, either from AP or as a customer, I would say not.

Clear skies, Alan

I'm very happy  with my f/15 TEC 7 Mak, but everything Roland makes is exquisite.

Yeah, I saw this displayed at NEAF last year. The Ultimate Planet Killer, if ever there was one. Like all of you, I am beyond jealous to get my hands on one of these...

My guess, from monitoring Roland C.'s statements on the AP-UG Yahoo Group, is that the notifications will start late this coming summer or fall.

On January 27th, Roland stated on the AP-UG Yahoo Group, "We still don't have the glass in, but [it] should arrive any day now.  Then it will be some time to do the polishing, figuring, testing, assembly etc."

Good things come to those who wait ... decades.  grin.gif

Another 10 weeks have come and gone.  Has anyone heard anything about the status of the current AP Mak-Cass production run?  Is it going to be Christmas (or later) before notifications begin?

Thank you.

That’s a violation of the spirit of CN.

There is no rule in the CN TOS forbidding calling a vendor for advice. smile.gif

This is far too simple. Plus it would remove the hanging question with an authoritative answer. That would mean no more fat chewing/jawboning for those sitting round the Cat's & Casses forum. wink.gif

There is nothing in the ToS about actually calling a vendor to ask a question. Even in spirit. It is actually encouraged since the caller can then bring the information back to CN for others.

Probably would have been quicker to LEARN how to make one.

If he would have attempted to make 10+ a year, Roland would be asking him for advice on how to build one by now lol.gif
