Hello Everyone!

I’m pleased to announce that Stevens Optical is now providing mirrors for our certified line of scopes!

For those of you who don’t know Ed Stevens, he worked for three years with Carl Zambuto of Zambuto Optical Company. During that time he became the small mirror specialist, providing finished mirrors to ZOC. I spoke to Carl about Ed and his abilities. Carl gave him high praise!

Stevens Optical will provide us new mirrors with an extremely smooth optical surface, crisp clean edge and zone free figure. His mirrors have been receiving high praises from his customers. Each Stevens Optical mirror comes with a performance guarantee to reach a minimum of 50x per inch of aperture. They also come with a hand bound certification booklet showing the final graphs and qualifying values for RTA, Strehl and PV Wave. These mirrors will provide you with super high contrast, sharp, detailed images.

Currently we have available 8” f/6 Certified DSO’s with Stevens Optical primary mirrors. One of them has a Strehl Ratio of .999 and RTA of .11. These mirrors are NEW and not refigured and made of precision annealed pyrex. You can find a sample of the certification booklet for this mirror at http://www.stevensop...SO-8-6-004.PDF. This scope can be built and shipped within 2-3 weeks and will sell for $1299.00 + shipping. Again there are currently 3 available.

Please see our website for all the Certified telescope details. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to email me at dpbp88@speednetllc.com or call me at 989-662-6924 anytime after 2:30pm EST Mon - Fri or anytime afternoon on Sat & Sun.

Thanks!

Dale, What a coup to get Ed Stevens onboard! I am not sure if you know that I currently own a Stevens Optical mirror and these primaries are absolutely first-class. With my Stevens mirror in Florida skies, I was able to push it to 62x/inch one night about two months ago on Saturn. The planet was sharp about 30% of the time for a while and of course I was doing this with the scope on my Tom O tracking platform. Sadly, we haven't had one of those kind of nights that I can recall since then. But I keep trying<g>. Ed guarantees 50x per inch but like my Zambuto and Spooner mirrors, I think that 80-100x/inch on a perfect night will likely be possible. We will keep trying on any given night if all the conditions become right. Bob

Quite a coup, Sir. You have added an excellent optician to your already impressive roster.

Hello Bob
Thanks! I spoke to Carl Z. about Ed and he had nothing but good things to say about him so that is why I didn't have any hesitation about his services & products. Ed and I have spoken several times before we decided to give this ago. I hope others will like the addition as well.

Thanks!

Hello Keith
Thank you very much! I'm very happy that ED and I could get this altogether for our customers. Ed has been very good to work with.

Thanks!
