If you're in the mid-atlantic and looking for a good deal on a nice RV-6, this one is worth strong consideration:

https://www.cloudyni...ope-about-1974/

The RV-6 and the C8 are probably the two best deals in a moderate sized scope (typically).

If that RV was local i would jump. Never seen a RV6 come up sale in my area.

Caution bidding! This is not a fluorite model!

https://www.ebay.com...3.c100033.m2042

Yes! That is the f/9.8 Vixen achromat. I wonder if the seller understands this? Here's an example.

Seller has responded and said...

Thank you. Several buyers have also indicated that this is not the right model. I will cancel this listing and fix it.

Your feedback is appreciated!

I got the same response.

I would agree with that. One scope on CL.  Just abut any state has a good selection of scopes.  Just depends on what you are looking for.  Patience is key and checking every day.   A lot of people here have search engines to find the deals on GL.  However, a lot of scopes do not get posted for a few days. It is fun to sit back and see how long it takes before people spot scopes I know are for sale.

I don't know Taks well enough to know if this is indeed a classic, so if not, mods, please delete.  Otherwise, this looks like a solid buy.

That is a classic with the old EM-1 mount.   The price is right around the retail value so not a real bargain.

Them 80's gray mounts were the best.  Tak was on top of its game back in them days.

I still like the 80's color better than the green mounts.  I would kill for a 80's NJP 160.

To clarify, the Buy-it-now price is $2450. Shipping "varies," and in the text the seller estimates $100 to $300 Fedex Ground.

When making deals, you can bring a seller or buyer to reality, but you can't make them...I'll thing of something witty. Maybe. We gotta cut this seller some slack. Yesterday he thought he had a fluorite scope worth thousands, and then he gets a bunch of messages telling him it's worth hundreds.

Definitely a classic.  Same color mount as the EM-1 with my 1985 epsilon 130.  I love that mount so much that it's pretty much all I'll bring with me into the field.  Runs a week on 4 D-cells, easily, and I've never guided it for AP.

Did someone mention Takahashi?  How about this one:

Takahashi MT-160 --> https://www.cloudyni...od-accessories/

I got my Vixen FL-80S from this Seller, and I'm thrilled with it -- and with the professional packing.  From Japan to The Swamp with nary a scratch -- pristine right out of the box.

[I wonder if this MT-160 could keep up with my RV-6?  (j/k Johann!!)]
