I've gotten totally addicted to heading out to my closest dark site for imaging ! It's only a 50-60 min away depending on how long it takes to get out of town during "rush hour" and how bad the washboards are on the final 10 mi of gravel road, but it's a "Blue" zone vs my "White" backyard.

A few locals along the way.

The "Site", and it's 360 view, and without a single visible light, of any type, anywhere, beyond the distant light domes.

I did not try to use the FR that I used last Friday , with it's horrid star shapes, and instead shot at native fl and f7. An hour or so into shooting, I remembered I hadn't screwed in the IR cut filter, so there is a tiny bit of star bloat, but I was very surprised at how well it was contained, vs my camera lens' because I never even noticed it during frame/focus even at 100%.

Not too bad for a $250 OTA, once it gets out of the back yard....
