Please remember that guests can also read these posts, so don't be too specific about your location or provide other information you don't want the whole world to see.  One may want to PM other members in your area and meet at a public location.

Hello,

My name is Alex. I'm a chemistry student and an amateur astronomer. I live several miles outside of Auburn so pretty far from most of the light pollution. I'm starting to get interested in astrophotography and was just curious if there was anybody else around here that was interested in astronomy or AP.

Hi Alex and War Eagle!

I believe there is an astronomy club in Auburn but I'm not sure how to contact them. When I was a student there long ago (Aerospace Engineering Class of '84) they used to observe on the intramural fields on weekends.

Hello Alex. The Auburn Astronomical Society would be who to contact. They have a Facebook page and website @ www.auburnastro.org . I live in central Alabama in Childersburg (bout 40 miles SE of B,ham). I'm not a member of AAS but I do speak with several members via facebook. They have monthly meetings on campus and have a very active public and private star parties.
