Canon T5 camera, WO GT71 scope, AVX mount, Solomark F50 guidescope w/ altered generic webcam using LuSol Guide Software, Camera controlled by 'Eclipse Orchestrator' software.

 

Data:
44°25'46.60"N, 117°35'45.58"W, 4870ft ele. (approx 25mi west of Huntington Oregon). Single image at prime focus, ISO 100, f/5.9, 1-100s

 

Processing:
All processing in Photoshop CC 2017, no darks or flats.

(7mb png file reduced to 500kb to meet attachment size restrictions. Original file can be viewed in my gallery)

Tracked by Skywatcher StarAdventurer mount on carbon tripod, no filter

Controlled by Eclipse Orchestrator software via laptop

Location: Total Eclipse Camping, between Mitchell and Service Creek, Oregon

Exposure: 1/800 seconds, ISO 200

 

Processing:

Curve adjusted with Adobe Photoshop

Minor editing in Adobe Camera Raw.

 

The night before totality, I checked the weather.  "Thunderstorms, 12:30 to 2:00".  Instead of stressing myself out, I promised myself not to check the weather for the whole day of the eclipse, and just let it happen.  Beautiful clear weather all day, UNTIL-One fluffy cloud right at second contact, then clear skies for the rest of totality.  Snapped this picture at second contact, of the Sun/Moon emerging from the clouds.

I did not use a telescope so maybe this doesn't qualify.

Sorry for the late response on getting the winners posted. Was a busy weekend for me.

 

The winner is ilikeit! Congratulations! You did a great job at not letting the 'diamond' get over exposed and become too large. The nice bit of corona around the ring is a nice beautiful touch as well.
