I was not sure if this was a better entry for the prominence or the Bailey's Beads category.

But I really like the profile of the lunar limb on this one - I feel I am almost looking at the sun rising on the lunar mountains smile.gif

Shame that what I have uploaded is not quite what I see on my laptop!

Technical data

Canon 6D - composite of 8 frames (ranging from 1/4000 sec to 1/500 sec) ISO 100

Location: Cedar Hills Vineyard, Ravenna, Nebraska

Takahashi FC100 at f7.4 on Avalon M-Zero Mount

Other than aligning the frames in Photoshop, very little processing (unsharp mask in PS and ACDNR in Pixinsight)

Your Equipment:

iOptron Solar 60(60mm F/6) Refractor

Canon Rebel T3i

Your Data:

Location-Perryville, MO

Settings-ISO 400, 1/640

Your Processing:

Brought down highlights, to better recover the beads.

These are the beads at second contact.  My goal was to capture them as late as I could, and I managed to get a nice shot.  Maybe not the most aesthetically beautiful to some, but good data.

Sorry for the late response on getting the winners posted. Was a busy weekend for me.

The winner is Philip! Congratulations! You did a great job capturing the slow development of the beads. Great job not over exposing them and showing as many individual beads as you could.

Way to go, Phillip! A wonderful series of progressive images reflecting the advance of Bailey's Bead during the eclipse! Spectacular!

Congratulations!
