We have no entries for the August 2020 Sketching Contest therefore no sketching contest for this month ending. Wow, this has not happened since December of 2018. So we will move on to the September 2020 Sketching Contest and hopefully we will have some wonderful sketch entries this new month..

Location: France Provence at the top of a hill (Altitude 700m) near the small village of Entrevennes - with excellent municipal nocturnal extinction
Equipment: naked eye and 102/1000 mm refractor
Magnification: naked eye and zoom EP 25-13 mm
Medium sketch: watercolor for the global view.  For the zoom portion: pencil, blending stump (plus china ink for Venus) on white paper, both digitally inverted

Target: M-63, galaxy in CVn. Fuzzy objects are HII regions/OB associations in the galaxy.
Observed and sketched: March 13, 2021
Location: remote ridge, 700 m. above sea level in Pennsylvania
Equipment: 20-inch Newtonian, 100 deg. oculars
Magnification: 150 and 250x, combined view
Technique: black paper, white pencils, tortillon, completed at the telescope. Touched up the next day (stars refreshed and some eraser work on the galaxy).
Conditions: transparency 9/10, seeing 4 arcsec, sky 21.85 mag/sq. arcsec.  North up in sketch
