Meade 8" f/6 in Kentucky

https://www.ebay.com...SoAAOSwUH5aXwDO

Hefty price on the 8" Starfinder. I had one back in 1993.  Good mount and optics in mine.  I was not crazy about the cheap strap rings.

It's an 826, not a Starfinder.

Thats not the older 8" Meade from the late 70's and 80's.

THAT is a Meade Starfinder GEM, NOT an 826, up one side and down the other.

It is WAY over priced at the BIN. maybe 300 to 350 in great shape, but the one in question is NOT in great shape.

The accessories show more abuse and are not that pricey in terms of quality anyway.

Not interested here, It need s to be examined in person with an agreed price of probably 200 something as shown BEFORE you

spend travel time.  Don't worry if you are interested, the posted price should keep it available till reason shows.

This looks like a storage unit auction C80 or C102 on a Super Polaris, $40 in Vista CA.  I have a cousin out there but he would have no clue how to pack it up and ship it and is too busy to make the drive.

A really Nice C8 that did  very nicely on  DPAC and an  Atlas mount with some nice eyepieces and  Dankmeyer power switch diagonal.  Was a sweet deal.  Also, a really nice stellar view right angle finder. c8 atlas.jpg

did I mention the great rings and the top flat bar to mount a guide scope.

Also, the counterweight set.

I almost bought that. But it was south of Tampa and my heart was not into driving 90 miles away to get it.

A shame.  The mount was worth what the guy was asking for the whole set up.  I did not drive a mile to get it. Was delivered to my front door.

The scope is a dark gold Tower Model No. 6333 60mm x 800mm.

This Sears 6333 Tower model is first listed in the general Sears Fall/Winter 1961 catalog page 748.

These black C8 Ultimas are generally quite good and this one looks very clean if not a tad overpriced:

I no longer want newer stuff.  Classics only now.  I know i could have broken it apart and made some money. Just not into shipping or dealing with buyers anymore.

Actually most threads are locked and re-started after about 100 pages.  There are a few exceptions, but for the most part, all threads have a lifespan.

Pretty much.  Also it's a good way to end off-topic chatter when it reaches ridiculous levels.  But it's generally about a one-month-long run before Brian locks the old one and starts a new one, give or take.

It does keep the active thread aligned with current auctions and ads.

Already deleted. I emailed the guy asking about the blank and an 8" Dob but he hasn't gotten back to me. Weird.

Sullivan, MO is a short distance from our farm.

Gentlemen - given its tapered RA axis - is the above a Starfinder mount?
