Not an opinion.

Even if you couldn't read, orange tube C14s always have holes in the fork arms like the C8 sand cast models but more of them. That one is a die cast 8 so no holes.

I sold mine for $900 some years back. I thought it was a good price and the buyer was willing to meet me 2/3 my way from Oklahoma City to Denver.
It's a VERY cumbersome scope, takes two to carry the base, takes two to carry the OTA, and needs to be modified to support the mirror correctly with ventilation. From the responses so far, I guess some consider it a no brainer and it may be now. Mine was a few years ago. I call a limit to solid heavy thick paper wound tubes to be about a 16" scope - for me. I've had Coulter red 8", Coulter Blue Box, Coulter 17+, just a Coulter 10" mirror bought separately (sent it back it was so bad, and received a full refund with understanding from the seller). The optics are hit and miss. The buyer should plan some viewing on a good enough night to check the optics.

Good optics would be bargain deal alone.

Yeah it's head is flopped over. These were made with enough clearance so they could be be used in Alt-Az mode.

It's a late 60's custom made 8" Newt by Larry Hardin who worked at Cave at the time. My neighbor fixed his motorcycle way back and he made him the mirror and scope. Lil barter action. It's amazing. Like the Millenium Falcon. "She don't look like much but she has it where it counts."

you got to admit  that there are times you cant make this stuff uplol.gif

At least they tried and took decent pictures.  Half the time it's "Telescope $200, big" with a fuzzy picture of a knob.

I'd like to have one, but it's really too soon for me to buy another scope.

But...  it's for a Good(will) Cause!  I figured it would be on at least one Forum member's radar...

JW is the king of Goodwill

And dang proud of it -- my Swift 838 and orange C5 heartily agree!  All hail The King!!

Why pay $500 when you can get it for $200 -- I can get it for you wholesale...

Two problems.

1. I've pushed my luck so far.... getting it past my very understanding and patient lady.

2. Goodwill is now on the radar among most of the Classic Buffs.

Goodwill auctions are still not usually as competitive as ebay but, the incomplete Mayflower 814 that ended a few days ago went for (IMO), too much. $88+ s/h.

I'm helping the cause. I just got my Penncrest from Goodwill last week and my Manon was a Goodwill of Seattle ebay listing.

That Selsi has been shown several times. It's been for sale for a very long time. Maybe a year. I believe it's been on ebay too.

I bet the B-52 school was at the military airport a little north of the commercial one.

Yep -- Castle AFB (sadly, another BRAC victim).  I was there in 1984 and again in 1990.  Painted my '78 Tasco (Towa 339) red & black during the first visit to the School House.

Selsi 339 (Towa?):

https://portland.cra...6516138587.html

Yeah, it's been on the market for quite a while.  It's an uncommon interpretation of the Towa 339 by Kenko, Hino, and possibly others.

I've been to the Castle Air Museum. I could have spent at least 2 years there up

we only had 2 days.
