Questar would be nice, but no. Smaller. It’s red, and has a case. It has a more common little brother. Picked up from a fellow CN’er.

A Questar would hopefully be in its circular drum.

My circular drum was inside of a bigger heavy cardboard box. ;)

Thanks R!

Hmmmm...now that I think about it, mine was too! But maybe the cardboard box is inside a second circular drum! lol.gif

Shredder1656 wins! I’ll try to take pics of it tomorrow. Cool classic that could ride on top of a vintage C8 at NEAF next year!

Ok, so here’s my “new” toy! Almost complete! Need both caps for the .965 Barlow. Also, I believe there was a slow motion tripod adapter. Anyone have?

Surprisingly good optically as compared to a ST80. It has less CA, and can go deeper in magnification. It just split, at times, Epsilon Lyrae at 100X with a 4mm ortho. One member split at 57X with a 7mm ortho. Yes, I have split them with an 80mm f/11.4 at lower mags, but this IS an f/5. M13? Could not resolve. The prior mentioned f/11.4 can, however the Moon was scattering light. Polaris shows undercorrected SA. Must be a Vixen thing. 11.4 shows the same.  Saturn? Low, but Cassini’s division visible at times. Moon was shimmering at the edges. Conditions? Transparency poor, mag 3 stars the limit. High humidity, temps in the 80’s. Seeing, below average, lots of houses radiating heat. It was clear however.

Nice and portable scope. Will look nice atop a vintage C8. What the ST80 does have is the ability to add a 2” focuser for an ultra wide view! Also can take standard rings. Both are f/5 achromats, so, I have no expectations beyond widefield views. New Moon is coming. Giacobini Zinner here I come!

Very nice... it looks to be in fine shape. It also looks like a nice  g and g /  goes well on vacation scope
