The eyepiece in question is just one of a bare handful or likely less that are known to exist. The auction ends in a few days. I hope I win. Lots of details after the auction closes. Just had to "let it out" so to speak. The seller is absolutely clueless and the eyepiece is misadvertised!

Intriguing! I have my eyes on some super rare Japanese eyepieces that I didn't know existed until last week. I hadn't even heard of the manufacturer before.

Clear skies!

Not many around because they were not too good, and sales were poor?

Rare does not always mean good....

I dunno...
What are the odds that the rarest EP on the 'Bay would be misidentified/mislabeled...?

Is it that there 50mm with 3 days to go ?

there was 4 of them in the series , 50mm , 24mm , 12mm , and 6mm .

From what I can see the eyepiece that really stands out is the Unitron 12.5mm that’s being sold in a set of two unitron eps. Why? Because that eyepiece is from 1955 and has the gold lettering which is actually because that top is brass and the lettering is not painted. These are sort after eyepieces and there are already 26 bids. It may not be the one you are looking at but it is rare to see that one anywhere.

That is indeed a rare eyepiece however not nearly as rare as the one I am hoping to acquire! Full details once the auction is closed.
