I've been looking for an independent filter selector ( a wheel or slide ) for my SCT CPC 11 edge.

I've been looking for anything that will prevent dew formation on filters ( so perhaps enclosed ) and that will not eat too many mm in back focus.

Filters quantity capability is not important, even 2 filter positions will do. I've searched the forum for previous suggestions but i was not able to find anything substantially better than this ( which i am using right now):

I know, not a great fan of the set up either, longer light path, potential for more collimation issue...
I can potentially change the position of the wheel in the train.... right now is:

FR .7x --> 2" Visual Back --> 2" diagonal --> filter wheel --> eyepiece

What are you thoughts guys?

May I ask...

What don't you like about your current filter changer?

It seems like a good solution...?

Otherwise, here's an alternative to consider. It's solid, simple, and takes up less space, but it won't cost less.

what i did not like was the bulkiness of it, i don't need 5 filters positions, the weight , but mostly the mechanism of rotation is not very smooth / fast.

To switch from one filter to the next you have to scroll the little wheel a few turns with your finger, making the selection not a seamless transition.

I would like to have almost an "instant" transition so that i can compare the visual with and without a filter.

I like that Baader UFC system... insteresting... I wonder where and how i would adapt that system to an SCT tho...

I use this sliding box for filters in a Baader prism, very short light path, I can use 1.25" and 2" filters

I bought it on AliExpress, from China.

The teleskop-express store has also.

Hey Mike.

I've been trying to understand about that power switch.

Can I use it if i have my own 2" diagonal? how does it work with 2" eyepieces?

I can't seem to find it on sale as an indenedet piece but only with binos or the native diagonal embedded.

Thank you

I'm not sure to the status if EarthWin although I believe Bill still works PT.

You can buy just the Power X Switch although IMO It's easier and more convenient to send your Diagonal to Bill and have him use it for a Power X Switch Diagonal.
