Restoration project Criterion Dynascope on eBay.

Looks to be an 8".  Has the wooden tripod which fits inside the pier - never used one but always thought that was a cool idea.

I can't tell if the RA circle is broken. Those are the coolest setting circles ever made. They are like Yerkes! IMO the most beautiful scope ever made. It's got it all - performance, astride the past and the future, great company with a rich and pioneering history.

Hi! New here. I’m the person who listed it. I’ve always been fascinated with these things but I’m not familiar with them and there were none listed on eBay for me to base my pricing off of. So i threw A number out there. I’m sorry if it was to high. Someone told me i couldnt Sell it that high so i lowered it by $1000. If it’s still to high and i get No interest i will continue to lower it. Same with the other listing. I bought a lot Of this type of stuff at an auction and have more to list.
As far as the “buyer beware”, I’m an honest seller with 100% feedback. I hope That won’t detour to many people. And I’m super sorry Kent if something in my eBay listing offended you. I didnt mean for that.

Cool scope, but seriously overpriced in that condition.

Hello and welcome. You don't have to feel sorry for anything. You live, You learn. Just because some people here aren't happy with the price doesn't mean you need to feel bad about your prices. It's your business really. Post it and if it doesn't sell the first time out then lower it accordingly. You can always do a search for your scope and look for others that have sold before and price accordingly. Be well.

Welcome to Cloudy Nights' Classic Telescope forum.

I think you could find a lot of pricing info here on Cloudy Nights that would give you a much better idea of the range it could/should sell for.  Of course condition plays a big factor.  In addition, while many of us may have conflicts of interest, I've largely found inquiries about pricing and value to be answered quite honestly here.  It's in everybody's best interest.

Just curious to know why you felt this way after reading the listing for myself. I did not get any bad vibes.

Speaking of N-K:  Did this $100 65mm OTA ever sell?

https://www.cloudyni...on-kogaku-65mm/

I'd like to do a shoot-out between CZJ, N-K, Royal, & Swift 50mm fracs -- CharlieB can do that for the 40mm models -- tiny scopes with big views!
