Maybe I have just been staring at it too long, but can't seem to get a processed image I like.

Processed using PI, combined LRGB in PS

No darks

30 flats

100bias

218x120 iso400

104x180 iso400

DBE

PCC

Extract L

    Deconvolution to tighten stars

    TGVDenoise

    Arcsinhstretch

RGB

    MLT noise reduction

    Masked stretch

Combined in PS with some slight curves and saturation adjustments, minimum filter to fade the fainter stars.

All C&C welcome and appreciated.

That's a faint target for an unmodified camera if you want to record any red hydrogen-alpha.

Other than not much Ha, I think it looks pretty good.

You say it is from your backyard on the AstroBin page, but what does that mean?  How bright was it?  Downtown Chicago?

12.5 hours sounds like a lot from a dark-sky site, but not that much at all from light polluted skies.

Thanks Jerry,

Bortle 5 (also noted on astrobin), just north of Rockford. I am planning on trying to get some Ha tonight, using a clip-in filter. I have had some success with it on other targets (IC410, heart neb) with an F4 lens, have not tried it with the 5.8 scope. Maybe the missing Ha is why I haven't been satisfied with the image.
