Possibly my best IR Saturn from 40deg N. The ASI290MC does well with the 685nm filter but I suspect the 290MM would do even better, perhaps time for a mono camera....

That shows the north pole hex really nice. 685 nm that is just above a SII filter. Is there a name for that filter or did you just order one centered on 685 nm.

It's just a baader IR685 filter, I suspect the 610 would also work well, have not tried it for this purpose.

I have the Baader IR 642 I use when conditions are favorable.

Nice idea, this challenge! This is from my third floor apartment kitchen window, looking out over the city of Strasbourg.  The building is a 1905 apartment block built during the Prussian era from 1870-1918.  The floorboards are wooden and a little shaky. The telescope is a 5" Mak-Cass.  When it is cold, the planetary imager is advised to wrap up, open the window, and turn off the radiator directly beneath it to avoid undue turbulence in the video.    (If you think I am angling for a certain degree of tolerance for my image, you are correct!).
