Ok, here is the first request for NEAIC Speakers

I'm looking for someone who is outstanding in high focal length imaging 3500mm or higher. At this point in time I don't care where in the world they are. If you think of someone please please try to send me as much information an contact info as you can.

Damian Peach would be hard to beat. He's all over the internet so details would be forthcoming. He's based in the UK but travels worldwide. v

Focal length only matters if you have pixels to match, so imaging at 3500 mm isn't that hard if you have 24-micron pixels. A better question would be a speaker who often images at a resolution of less than one arcsecond per pixel.

In that case, Adam Block may be your guy.

Are there any special discounted rates at the Crowne Plaza this year for NEAIC or NEAF?  If so, does anyone know how much per night with the discounts?

There is a discount if you call the Crowne Plaza and reference the NEAIC. The room prices vary depending on what you want. I thought I had a nice deal and reserved three nights using Priceline. I called the hotel last week, after a recomendation, and I saved $75 total over the three nights compared to the price I previously reserved. You have to call though, as they don’t offer the discount online.

I reviewed last years NEAIC and NEAF thread and it looks like rooms were going for $126 a night if you asked for the conference group rate.  I don't know if they are doing that rate again this year.

The room rate at the Crowne Plaza for this year is $126 a night, plus taxes at 11+%.  I confirmed this when I made my reservations on Friday.

I just made my reservation today and can confirm the price. I was told that the block of rooms was already sold out although they honored the $126 plus tax cost.

I called around 7:45pm (EST) this evening. Make sure the front desk doesn't transfer you to central reservations!  After calling back directly a 2nd time, I got a very helpful lady on the front desk (Nicola?). $126, choice of one king or two queens.

I don't know if it helped or not that I'm IHG Platinum - they usually put me up in the executive hallway on the top floor.

Dumb question, but, are the vendors and the lectures for NEAIC all located at the Crowne Plaza or is some of it at Rockland CC?  Since I'm coming up for NEAF early Friday afternoon do you need a Conference registration to just visit and speak with the vendors prior to Saturday (NEAF)?

I'm purely visual so I'm not too concerned about the imaging lectures or workshops.

NEAIC is all contained at the Crowne Plaza - vendors and lectures.  You CANNOT get in to talk to the vendors without conference registration.

That's what I thought regarding the vendors but I figured I'd ask anyway.  I can wait the additional 18 hours to talk to them.

Depending on the browser you use, you may not see the RAC discount block when this page comes up.  You may see something like this:

CrownePlazaLink.png

If you see this, click on the MORE OPTIONS button and RAC Group Code is visible.

Extremely excited to attend NEAIC this year-  My second NEAF, but first NEAIC.  Myself and three of my society members are flying in Wednesday!  Booked at the Crowne and looking forward to it!
