Questar seems overpriced to me with all that is missing.  The Vixen is probably a great deal, but is a 3 hour car ride and then 50 hour boat ride away smile.gif

The Questar ad is gone. I emailed the seller-no case, or table top legs- just what was in the photos. Don't know if someone bought it or the seller pulled the ad.

You mean 50 days by boat? Probably closer to 14. At any rate, shipping from Australia to America would be an onerous sum!

Meade Model 227 "Cometseeker"

I thought I read here that these are pretty decent.  Ironically this is about two miles from my sister and BiL.  I don't need another small scope though.  I'm more a user than a collector.

Good for low power widefield.

Orange C8 with very high price, IMO, and includes dent, otherwise it does look good. No tripod.

And another, bidding is 1/3 of the other.  Includes more, even the "rare" case mentioned above, and it has tripod and more acc.

At 60mm and 0.965” you could do way better. I think an 80mm F5 with atleast a 1.25” focuser is the minimum requirement. Only exception being a Tiny Traveler for airline transport, and even so, I would want something a bit more robust.

The Meade 277 has a 1.25" focuser.

Looks very nice, and very well made.

Edit:  Oops, it's home built and not a classic.  Mea Culpa
