The title says it all. I am working with two Canon DSLRs on a Tak FSQ106 riding on a CGX-L. With all equipment working perfectly, over the last couple of nights I acquired 139 3-minute subs on my chosen target, plus darks, flats, and bias frames. DSS will load all darks, all flats, and all (141) bias frames, but it stubornly refuses to load more than 116 "light" frames, leaving 23 light frames out of the stacking process. I have both an older (3.3.2) and a newer (4.1.1) DSS version, the same happens on both.

Any ideas on how to persuade DSS to load more light frames? And any suggestions on the best way to get the most of my data without losing 23 frames?

Thanks!

Are you dragging and dropping them onto the DSS window?

If DSS doesnt like the files for some reason, or they're the wrong file type (ie text files) it will just ignore them and show a lower number.

Is it always the same files that DS wont load? What happens when you try to load just these ones?

Could be memory issue.

If it's the same with 64 bit version then I would suggest try using groups.

But you can load collossal numbers of files in regardless of the total data size. Remember its not actually 'loading them in', its just listing the files it's aware of.

There must be a problem with the files in question, I guarantee it.

Im currently stacking 32,000 1600x1200 frames (drizzling too). It works fine.

The files are all Canon raw format. Could it be something with their names?

Maybe. Ive not encountered anything like that but Ive only stacked Canon RAW a few times.

Do the problematic files load into other software OK?
