I have to check the one I have again. Nice straight lines under DPAC, but not so good visually. Never could figure that one out. Could be the diagonal I was using now I think about it.
The large central obstruction of the 2045, as you know, reduces contrast. For this reason, my 75mm achro gave a more detailed view of Jupiter. But on high-contrast objects like Saturn and the moon, the little Schmidt wows. Double stars are likewise wonderful.
Maybe you were looking mostly at very low-contrast objects? This could explain why your DPAC results were good, but your views not so good.
