Some nice .965 stuff posted!

Here is my small collection:

2 Celestrons 2 Pentax (thanks goes to JW for 3 of those btw!)

Filters, barlow, Mystery Item #1 (I know what it is, but does anyone care to guess?)

Diagonal, and a .965 LPR Nebula filter.

Also not pictured, the ep from the Sears scope finder, and the ep/diagonal combo from the older helical focus 50mm Celestron / Vixen finderscope.
Not sure about the Sears, but I think the Vixen is around 40mm with threads recessed in by the eye lens... and a slightly bent crosshair.

The mystery item is a "relay lens" for use with a reflecting telescope.  A barlow for a newtonian.  Is that it?

Right you are Bill!

I guess that is the technical term for it. smile.gif

Was kinda stumped for awhile when I got it, had never ran into a .965 barlow with a t-thread on it. Celestron called it a photographic adapter in one of the older catalogs, iirc.

Apparently someone found an old stock of brand new Pentax SMC 0.965" orthos at Intercon Spacetec in Germany.

The whole set for 1800 euros. A steal! grin.gif

Probably the last chance to own these legendary eyepieces. Me? I'll pass. Can't afford it.

Clear skies!

Sorry for the thread resurrection, but I finally got an "action shot".

It's a 40mm Huygenian eyepiece that came with a Swift 831, but I occasionally use it with bigger OTAs.

Unfortunately the eyepiece, along with the adapters, can take a bit of extra work to bring to focus on some instruments.

Thanks to Chuck Hards for the gift of the Swift compression fitting 0.965" -> 1.25" adapter.

My set of small eyepieces,  some Kellner and Orthos, used with my vintage Celestron  C90.

Like these eyepieces, they give you an astonishing clear and sharp Image!C90 Okulare 1.jpg

This showed up on eBay recently, I sent the Japanese seller a BIN offer that was automatically declined instantly.  I walked away.  The next day the seller sent me a message accepting my offer.

I have to admit that the only reason I wanted it was for the Astro sticker.  Going to include this one with my R-61 kit (Astro 60x1200mm f/20)

The more used 0.965 EP's.

965collection.jpg

The rear left two are koenig's 20 and 8mm.

In front is the quartet of Tani K 6, NK O-9, Tani K 12, Vixen Or 5.

To the rear right are B&L 25 , Nikon 16, B&L 8.

Front right is a 16mm super wide-field - supposed to be 62 but measured at 71. Widest I've found.

Tak Or 7 near it.

The Or 4 next to it appears to be a Tani, but it is super sharp and double the field size of any Or 4 I've ever seen.
It's a very difficult EP to clean, and it's also very unforgiving if you assemble it wrong (flipped triplet).

7mm Celestron/Vixen Ortho

16mm Leitz Wetzlar.

AH40mm (also have the Kellner version somewhere, it's a little narrower).
