Finally got one yesterday morning around 3:30 a.m. Set up the Canon 5DMIII and Tamron 24-70mm F2.8 and a dew heater around 12:30 a.m. Checked focus at 1:30...good.
I must have moved the zoom ring while attaching the dew heater as Canon DPP showed the FL as 29mm.
Anyway 580+ frames and only captured 3 little meteors and then this MONSTER before the 16gb CF card filled up.
So, ISO 1600, 15sec @F2.8. I used an intervalometer with no delay between frames.
The Fireball left a dust trail (see links) that the camera picked up for more than 10 minutes! In the last frame of the .gif animation is another meteor! I am a very happy camper!
