One reason I've not posted recently is I've been struggling with how to put some 1600 images on line.  The project is horrendous with a data file that took me over 5 hours to upload.

http://images.mantrapskies.com/search

It's just one page.  Enter the object name in the search box with NO SPACE such as Arp001.  If I have it under that name it should show up.  I hope to eventually be able to use any NED name but that's another can of worms.  In a very few cases of odd catalogs a space in the name may be required but not in the case of common catalogs like the NGC, Barnard, etc.

While it has virtually every image I've ever posted here there are some missing.   Many are prior to my joining CN so have never been posted here.  I was taking images from 2006 on but didn't join CN until 2008.  Some of my latest postings here are also missing as I had to start work months ago. I'll add those as I learn more about how to update this enormous data base without having to spend over 5 hours uploading it and even more assembling it.

I had no clue how to make this work.  Another club member, Mark Dahmke, did all the heavy lifting from files I sent him.  I'm sure there are errors and bugs.  Please report these to me.

Thanks for posting this.  I can spend a fair amount of the time looking at all the different images searches for ideas for future imaging runs.

Thank you for doing this. Your write-ups and research are a real treasure. I'm glad I don't have to search for them on this forum anymore.

Thank Mark Dahmke, he did the heavy lifting part and is now working to add all NED designations so even if you use a rare one it should find it.

I see his system skipped any without text.  That's likely about 50 very early ones when I didn't do research.  I'll be adding those slowly.  Each change requires a rebuild so takes several minutes even on a good server like he uses.  Just finding them will be a chore.

Since this post he has now added all new ones I've processed including 6 not yet posted here.

BARNARD330 missed it's image.  How do you want errata passed on?

This is remarkable. Many of us have been waiting for a catalog of your images. It is now my go to resource before choosing a target to image. Congrats and thanks much!

Perhaps this should be pinned as a “sticky” on this forum.

This is an incredible resource Rick!

Now you need to hit the Southern Hemisphere for the Magellanic Clouds and the two best globular clusters ;)

A long article from 2014 has been added on my though process when developing the observatory.  Being 2014 it doesn't cover CMOS cameras.
