I'm looking for cheaper ring alternative for a TOA130 which is 155mm in diameter. Has anyone tried the ES Cradle on their Tak TOA130 or FS 152? Specs say 154mm inner diameter.

Thanks a lot guys. I think the cradle may be better with the carry handle.

HERE is a link to Parallax. They make rings for most Takahashi refractors.

You can buy standard 6.3" tube rings. I bought them for my TOA and painted them Takahashi green so I can put a handle on them. They were much more practical then the single tube ring that came with the scope I bought.

They also fit my APM 152ED refractor. Same size tube diameter.

These tube rings will fit a TOA-130 optical tube. I bought these, took them apart and painted the tube rings Takahashi green, changed the felt and they were perfect. Very strong solid rings. You'd notice that immediately that these rings on the TOA are a good match.

I don't think I would trust my TOA130 to these, they look like low pressure cast aluminium with only about 1/8" thick material where the thread has been cut....

(as a minimum I would want a washer and in that recess to lock the dovetail bar in place)

None of them have it in stock.

Are there any stores with it in stock?

Vixen, at one time, sold white rings in that size. Maybe you could still find some.

My 156mm rings should work from my APM 6" ED.

Got the cradle today and fits perfectly. Next I'll mount it on a Losmandy dovetail plate. May paint it Tak green.

What's up with the Takahashi decal on the 130's tube, by the focuser?  Is that something you added?  I've never seen such a decal on a Takahashi refractor.

This is my custom made rings and handle for my FS-152. Its tube size is same as TOA-130. Cost less than the stock one and weight much lighter.

Do you guys know which losmandy dovetail plate will match up with the mounting holes on the blocks of the ES cradle?  I want to replace the vixen style rail with a losmandy style plate.
