I picked up a repairable Unitron 114 (60 x 900 alt-az) with a mostly complete Unihex.  It may move on to a new owner at some point, but I'll clean it up and test it, and if it makes me happy, I'll keep it.

Vixen four inch fluorite search found an

FC-100 instead .........But  then  the C-102f found me and I have to scramble to get it

BB and the Battle Royal at the Swamp got me all jazzed up for the SearS 6336....

later that summer  I craved my first Unitron and the 1959 140 popped up a month later and I was ready    finally the Vixen 80mm showed up on our craigs ebay etc but it was 3000k miles away. Seller agreed to sell and ship just the tube

Local craigs rescues  like Meade 314 (sold)and C-80 (selling cheap) and who could forget the ETX90 with cement on it from the Town dump  i got the cement off the tube and gave it to Augustus who somehow got it running    Got a 60mm Monolux from his as well

almost forgot the old Selsi tube converted to 1.25 and vixen bar ready

Still in reading learning and slowing the buying mode also learning to sell one to get one    but not wanting to get distracted this year by 3 inch scopes I cannot resist    New Years resolution  go bigger  buy one great scope

bought some good classics and sold stuff as well

all in all it was an exhausting but good year for this old dog....

Two for me.  Started off with the 1976 Celestron C5 I won for the  opening $50 bid at the San Diego Astronomy Association annual banquet in January.  With a full strip down, clean, and lube, and having the primary recoated it turned out to be fantastic!  Crazy sharp optics and lots of belts and details on Jupiter this summer.  Mars, not so much.  Send Roombas with the next rover!

Next was a 1965 Questar 3.5 which I tried to get the primary recoated but got scratched in the process (not by Questar or Cumberland), so I sprung for a full optics replacement in September and is now one of my favorite scopes.

Here is a picture with both of them, although the C5 is on the pier for my 1965 C10.  I also have the locked triangle tripod and wedge for the C5 when I use it in the field like in my Mt Laguna picture from May where I tracked down all of the Coma Virgo and Leo Messier galaxies and all the spring and early summer globular including Omega Centauri.

All except the top Sky Chief came with tripods, which only included the GEM mount.
